Black Fashion Week

The event that shouldnt be missed this week-end : THE BLACK FASHION WEEK.

These words dont tell you much, excepted that it is about a fashion show like the ones which happened in Paris recently. But this is more than that! The Black Fashion Week, aside from gathering very talented designers, offers something unique in France : the recognition of the Black fashion. I was amazed about the creations, the models and the quality of the show…

Organized by Adama Event, the Black Fashion Week held for 2 days, the 5th and the 6th of October at the Pavillon Cambon Capucines in Paris. A sublime place which was up to my expectations and was representative of the quality of the show. The programme included : fashion shows, cocktail and after party.

The celebration of the designers of the world :

The designers were thoroughly selected and shew us men and women collections more original than the last : eclectic mix of materials, foldings, asymmetry of the shapes, freshness of the colors. Among them :

  • Adama Paris
  • Eliette Lesuperbe
  • Maria Bocoum
  • Sidy Counda
  • Eric Raisina
  • Zacometi
  • Evgheni Hudorojcov
  • Martial Tapolo
  • Alphadi
  • Enzo Itzaky
  • Mame Fagueye
  • Sophie Zinga
  • Patou Manga
  • Elie Kuame
  • Helmer

One word to describe this moment : DAZZLING!

These very promising designers won unanimous support  and presage a very bright future.

The Black Fashion Week aroused a great interest and attracted French celebrities such as : Harry Roselmack, Princesse Erika, Singuila, Youssoupha, Fally Ipupa, François Durpaire and many others. Without forgetting the beautiful Inna Modja who shew her talents as a model.

I am proud to have attended this memorable show which demonstrated the quality of our resources.  It confirmed what Ive already knew : that  couture is a full-fledged art. It also demonstrated a will to highlight our culture. By participating in this event, we finally all participated to encourage this initiative. Henceforth, I would like to participate to the diffusion of this art.

I invite you to discover some pictures of the fashion show. Here below the link referring to the blog of my friend Kinky Obiri who did a beautiful testimony.

The Rendez-Vous is then booked the next year for the Black Fashion Week 2014.

PS : many thanks to my friend Mya for making me discover this event. Luv U!
